THE MOON AND THE SUN

Have you heard of Taoism? Among other things, it's the religion that believes in the spirits of the sun and the moon. Taoism claims that the relationship between the two spirits creates balance in our reality, and therefore they reverence the two spirits. Part of the meaning of the symbolism is how they call the moon 'yin' and the sun 'yang'. Taoism exalts the natural order of things.

In the Christian worldview, we believe in Jesus. While we do not deny the existence of a worldview like Taoism, we pride ourselves in the realization and presentation of Jesus as the actual Light of the world. Although scientifically, the moon does not produce its own light, both the sun and moon help us as human beings. In John 8:32, Jesus said plainly "I am the Light of the world!" This is one of the fascinating things about the Bible; how these words are so accurate to the letters as if they were written recently! God knew that there would be people who would be amazed at the balance of the sun and moon and would dare to worship them. And because of such people, He has given the truth; He is the one to be worshipped.

Neither the sun nor the moon can give the kind of light that reaches the very heart, only God can do that. Yes, the sun and the moon are important to our existence, but they cannot substitute their Creator. To think that the world was created out of some natural chaos is like thinking that a book was created by thunder striking at a printing press, we both know that's not true. How then can we think that the multiverse was created by some natural chaos and matter formed just by itself? Just like a book would be the work of an intelligent designer, the same way, the multiverse is a meticulous work of the Intelligent Designer.

If you have seen this sun and the moon, and you are so amazed that you almost worship them, imagine how you will wonder at the sight of their Creator; before whose eyes Heaven and earth flee! The Almighty Creator of the multiverse! If you wonder this much at his creation, how much more the Creator. I would rather, that you reverence Him, He created all these wonders around and only He can make your life a wonder.
